COVID-19 Navigational Update

There have been a million and one think pieces about what to expect moving into the future of sexual and reproductive care in the face and aftermath of the Corona Virus (Covid-19). There have been a million more about other subjects unrelated to aforementioned care as well. What I'm sure no one else wants is yet another one so I promise that I will spare you the ones I've written in my own mind over the past almost three months and instead will direct you to how I plan to keep working with my community moving forward.

I took the past several weeks off to take care of myself, mentally and physically during this trying time and I now find myself ready to re-commit to connecting with my work as an educator and doula. What this will look like for me and those that I work with for the time being is a lot more virtual support, higher precautionary measures such as personal protection equipment including but not limited to face masks, gloves, low/no physical contact support, and more.

Most importantly, I will be taking things day by day being cognizant of the impact this pandemic has had on all of us. A lot of us have been hit hard, the impact doubled by the systems of oppression designed to keep us down in he best of times. Being aware and striving to make a positive impact for folks who are struggling the most at this time is of the utmost importance to me. This means keeping up-to-date on the evidence based information is coming to us (such as through Evidence Based Birth) and using intuition to make decisions that best suit the situation(s) at hand.

Until we see each other again, please feel free to browse the sight even as I am updating and editing. I am available for questions, resources, and support as well! Be safe, be well, and take care of yourselves and one another.
